Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and its group of companies held their annual tahlil ceremony Thursday at the Royal Mausoleum in Jalan Tutong to honour the late parents and son of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
The congregation commenced with the recitation of Surah Yaasin, followed by tahlil and prayers led by Mosque Affairs Officer from Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Mosque Imam Haji Hamdini bin Haji Gharif. Prayers were offered for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Abdul Rahman, and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
Around 250 congregants attended the ceremony, which was led by Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman in his capacity as Chairman of BIBD and Syarikat Takaful Brunei.
Also present were BIBD’s Managing Director and CEO Awang Junaidi bin Haji Masri, members of the Board of Directors for BIBD Group and Takaful Brunei, the Shariah Advisory Body of BIBD Group and BIBD At-Tamwil, as well as management and staff from BIBD, BIBD Securities, BIBD At-Tamwil, and Takaful Brunei.
The ceremony is one of BIBD’s annual religious events held during the holy month of Ramadhan to seek Allah’s blessings, remember those who have passed, and strengthen bonds among the bank’s personnel. – Fadley Faisal
