Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam‘s (BIBD) Head of Government Relations and Special Projects Division Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah was honoured with BRC Henry Dunant Award for Emerging Young Leaders 2023, presented by the Brunei Red Crescent Society (BRC).

The award recognises BIBD’s strong support through its Government Relations and Special Projects Division’s advocations led by Haji Mohammad Yusri’s commitment in advancing BRC’s humanitarian initiatives with various stakeholders.

Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad presented the award during BRC’s International Friendship Dinner at the Radisson Hotel recently.

The award was handed out to individuals who displayed leadership qualities and make significant contributions towards the development and success of humanitarian engagements.

Haji Mohammad Yusri said the award is a testament to BIBD’s commitment to adopting a whole-of-nation approach in upholding the Maqasid Syariah, supporting the government in achieving Brunei Vision 2035 and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

He added, “Through the strategic role of the Government Relations and Special Projects Division, BIBD has fostered a close collaboration with the BRC, enabling us to join forces and make an impact in our humanitarian efforts.”

BIBD has been working closely with the BRC to address societal challenges and enhance the overall well-being of the local community.

One notable outcome of this collaboration is the establishment of the BIBD Corporate Platoon, a joint initiative that combines the expertise and resources of both organisations to undertake impactful community projects aimed to participate in humanitarian work at both national and international level.
