Benjamin Seek of Apex Racing emerged as grand champion of the AZ Karting Rookie Cup Karting Championship 2023 held at the F1 Supakart, Jerudong Park Playground yesterday.
The winner who demonstrated a combination of speed, precision and control as well as sharp movements around the track, also earned the title of fastest driver.
Shopian Said of Surkrew Motorsports was the runner-up with Alan Badzli of Rosso Racing completing the podium in third place. Meanwhile, Rezhan was crowned champion in the Club Kart Challenge, followed by Rayyan Sophian and Nazheef.
The Rookie Cup Championship is a five-round karting series contested by novice drivers.
The Club Kart Challenge is an entry-level karting series that utilise the rental karts from AZ Karting.
The championship aimed to promote the sport and its associated values in accordance with health and safety regulations. A total of 18 participants took part in both series including 10 in the Rookie Cup Championship and eight in the Club Kart Challenge.
Rotax Asia Distributor Genji Hashimoto presented the prizes.
