Belait’s Indian association celebrates Deepavali

The Indian Association of Belait (IAB) recently celebrated Deepavali with colourful dances and vibrant music at Pusat Insani in Seria.

High Commissioner of India to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri, the guest of honour, celebrated the holiday with 800 guests from the Indian community in the Belait District.

During the event, a charitable donation was handed over to the Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources Brunei by IAB President Salimo.

The celebration featured dance and music from both traditional and Bollywood songs, alongside Indian cuisine with celebratory dishes.

IAB Secretary-General Manoj Kumar Pant said a Deepavali celebration had been long-awaited by the Indian community since the COVID-19 pandemic.
