Over 50 members of the Lions Club of Sabah and Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur visited the Lions Club of Belait on Saturday.

The visit was part of an expedition that began on January 18 in Tawau, Sabah. The group was led by past district governor of 308-A2 Dr Gan Kean Siong.

Dr Gan said the group will visit several destinations across Borneo Island to hand over donations to those in need. He said the group has visited Holy Family Residence in Papar, Sabah and planted saplings at Pusat Pemulihan Dalam Komuniti Tenom in Tenom, Sabah.

The visitors, including Second Vice District Governor of 308-A2 Dato Winnie Lee, were welcomed in Belait by Lions Club of Belait President Phyllis Jong.

The group handed over donations to PawsUp’s shelter in Kampong Sungai Liang and presented eyeglasses to Lions Club of Belait and Lions Club of Bandar Seri Begawan for their joint project.

The visitors joined local Lions Club members for lunch at a restaurant in Kuala Belait.
