Belait villagers to vote for new chiefs

Citizens and permanent residents above the age of 18 in Pekan Kuala Belait ‘B’, Kampong Mumong ‘C’ and RPN Kampong Panaga ‘A’ have been called to join the election for village heads, said Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad during a press  conference yesterday.

“The Belait District Office, as the secretariat of the voting committee for penghulu and village head candidates in the Belait District will be hosting three elections on November 24 and 26,” said the acting Belait District officer.

He said the sole candidate for Pekan Kuala Belait ‘B’ Village Head position is Muhammad Suffrizal bin Haji Hamdan.

“For those wishing to use the PMKK E-Undi application to vote for the village head of Pekan Kuala Belait ‘B’, registration will close on November 21, with the actual voting through application running from November 22 to 24,” he said.

Residents of Pekan Kuala Belait ‘B’ will be able to cast their votes physically at the Municipal Hall, Kuala Belait on November 24. Meanwhile, candidates for Kampong Mumong ‘C’ and RPN Kampong Panaga ‘A’ are Abdul Rahman Amin bin Jalani and Muhammad Nurzairie bin Abdullah Peter.

“Voting for village heads of Kampong Mumong ‘C’ and RPN Panaga ‘A’ will commence on E-Undi PMKK from November 24 to 26, and physical voting at Belait Sixth Form Centre from 9 am to 11.30am.” – Daniel Lim
