The Enforcement Division of the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board issued a compound fine of BND1,000 to a local supermarket at Kampong Pandan 7 on Wednesday.
The division discovered that the supermarket had disposed of used construction materials, as well as a broken freezer and cardboard boxes at a public area behind the supermarket.
The supermarket was given seven days to settle the fine and failure to do so will result in the case being brought to court.
If found guilty, the individual will be fined at least BND2,000 and no more than BND10,000 for the first offence and at least BND10,000 and more than BND30,000, imprisonment of not more than 12 months or both for subsequent offences. – Daniel Lim
