The Belait District Scouts Association held their annual general meeting at their premises on Sunday.
Association members discussed financial expenses as well as scouting activities and events over the past year. Members also discussed upcoming activities, including preparation for His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 78th birthday celebration.
The meeting also saw the election of committee members for 2024 to 2027. The members re-elected Haji Saidin bin Haji Ibrahim as the chairman, Johnny Yap as the deputy chairman, Jaleha bin Lahab as the secretary and Haji Ibrahim bin Dato Seri Maharaja Dian as the treasurer.
As the re-elected chairman, Haji Saidin, pledged to continue to carry on the mission and vision of the scout movement in the Belait District, as well as to support the scout activities held throughout the district.
Belait District Scouts Commissioner Mohamad Hatta bin Haji Suhaili was present at the meeting. – Daniel Lim
