A flag-hoisting ceremony for the Belait District took place yesterday morning in Kuala Belait in conjunction with the 41st National Day celebration.
Acting Belait District Officer Haji Amirol Hafidzin bin Haji Muhammad attended the event.
The ceremony commenced with the national flag bearers marching into the venue.
The flag bearers were cadet teams and scouts from Belait Sixth Form Centre, Perdana Wazir Secondary School, Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School, Anthony Abell College and Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School.
After receiving the national flag, Haji Amirol Hafidzin handed it over to Royal Brunei Police Force personnel to be hoisted.
The choir group from Belait Sixth Form Centre performed patriotic songs after the flag was hoisted.
Haji Amirol Hafidzin presented national flags to penghulus and acting penghulus as well as members of associations in the Belait District, to be hoisted at their premises. Legislative Council members, village heads, representatives from the private sector and members of associations were present. – James Kon
