Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (Brunei LNG), partnering with Big BWN Project, the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe), the Department of Youth and Sports and the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board, organised the fourth ‘Eco-Ramadhan’ campaign in the Belait District on Wednesday.
Brunei LNG distributed 500 reusable bags during the campaign at Tudung Saji, Kuala Belait where a Gerai Ramadhan is taking place. JASTRe and the Kuala Belait and Seria Municipal Board also handed out reusable bags.
Brunei LNG Asset Manager Haji Zalani bin Haji Lalim, Brunei LNG Human Resources, External Relations, Real Estate and Facilities Manager Mizan Adiliah binti Haji Mohamad Deli and Big BWN Project founder Noorhafizah Rashid were present.
The organisers said the campaign was aimed at highlighting the dedication to preserving the nation’s environment, not only to lower carbon emissions, conserve resources, promote recycling and safeguard endangered species and ecosystems, but also to reduce the use of single-use plastics.
A similar campaign was held recently at the Gerai Ramadhan at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
The campaign will continue to the Tutong District on April 2 at the district’s Ramadhan stalls. – Daniel Lim
