A total of 378 performers showcased their love and dedication to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, during a grand performance at the get-together celebration in the Belait District on Tuesday.
Held at the Municipal Field in Kuala Belait, His Majesty and the royal entourage witnessed the performance, and the citizens and residents of the Belait District, received positive receptions from the attendees.
Leading the performance was Pekan Kuala Belait ‘B’ Village Head Mohammad Sufrizal bin Haji Hamdan, who shared more details on the extravagant display.
“Themed ‘Raja Berdaulat Lagi Terhormat,’ this year’s performance represents our eternal gratitude and dedication to the strides made by His Majesty in developing the nation,” said Mohammad Sufrizal.
The performance was divided into three segments, starting with an opening act depicting His Majesty’s wisdom and kindness through contemporary dance accompanied by live band music.
The second segment highlighted ethnic and modern dance routines, showcasing the visionary generation tackling challenges to achieve the nation’s vision.
“This segment featured a variety of indigenous dances passed down through generations, symbolising social harmony, loyalty, and undying confidence in supporting the nation’s vision. These dances were accompanied by traditional gulingtangan and modern musical instruments, illustrating the fusion of past and present,” Mohammad Sufrizal explained.
The final act brought together performers from both segments in a grand finale, showcasing cultural and social harmony. The theme song ‘Raja Berdaulat Lagi Terhormat’ was the highlight of this segment. – DANIEL LIM
