The Belait District Office received contributions worth BND5,000 from companies and individuals on Thursday, bolstering the Belait District Orphans Fund to lessen the burdens of orphans in the district in preparation for the holy month of Ramadhan.
Acting Belait District Officer Mohd Yassin bin Haji Ahmed received the contributions.
Serikandi Oilfield Services Sdn Bhd and Ya-Nur Trading Company Sdn Bhd each contributed BND1,500 to the fund, handed over by Chairman and Managing Director of Serikandi Group of Companies Shaikh Haji Khalid bin Shaikh Haji Ahmad, who also presented a contribution from his family.
Meanwhile, Jisco Marine Sdn Bhd contributed BND1,000 to the fund, presented by its Managing Director Shaikh Ahmad Khalis bin Shaikh Haji Khalid.
The Belait District Orphans Fund committee expressed gratitude for the donations, and welcomed more contributions, which can be made to the Belait District Office during office hours.
