BDSA organises swimming meet

The Brunei Darussalam Swimming Association (BDSA), in collaboration with International School Brunei (ISB) is organising the eagerly anticipated seventh Brunei Open and Masters and seven – nine years old Short Course (25 metres) Swimming Championships at the ISB 25m Swimming Pool starting from yesterday until tomorrow.

In the seventh Brunei Open and Masters, 11 local clubs will be participating involving 188 swimmers, of whom 67 will be female and 121 male. A total of 959 individual events and 57 relay teams have also been submitted.

Meanwhile in the seven – nine years old short course, there will be a participation of 11 local clubs and three overseas clubs. A total of 144 swimmers including 69 female and 75 male have been registered. In addition, a total of 543 individual events and 38 relay teams have been submitted.

This premier swimming event promises to showcase the immense talent and dedication of Brunei’s swimming community.

With 11 local clubs vying for supremacy in the seventh Brunei Open and Masters, and an additional three overseas clubs joining the seven – nine years old category, the competition is expected to be fierce and exciting.

A highlight of the championships is the participation of Paul Yong, aged 82, who will be competing in the 25m butterfly event today.

Yong exemplifies the spirit of ageless enthusiasm and determination, inspiring participants of all ages.

The BDSA invites all sports enthusiasts, families, and the general public to witness the feats of athleticism.
