ANN/THE STAR – Businessman Tiko Aryawardhana, husband of Indonesian singer Bunga Citra Lestari, is currently facing scrutiny over allegations of embezzling IDR6.9 billion (equivalent to approximately MYR1.9 million) from PT Arjuna Advaya.
As per reports from Indonesian news outlet Kompas, Tiko stands accused of this wrongdoing, allegedly carried out during his tenure as the company’s director between 2015 and 2021.
The report, confirmed by South Jakarta Police’s Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Bintoro, was initiated by Tiko’s former spouse, Arina Winarto.
Arina is both the founder and shareholder of PT Arjuna Advaya.
According to statements from Arina’s legal representative, Leo Serigar, the report was lodged in 2022 after Tiko failed to provide satisfactory explanations for discrepancies discovered within the company’s financial records.
“Having been vested with complete authority over the company’s operations and finances, Tiko purportedly moved towards the closure of the company in 2019, citing an inability to meet rental obligations,” Serigar explained.
“Suspicions arose when Arina began scrutinising profit and loss documents, revealing indications of tampering.”
Tiko and Arina, who are parents to three daughters, were married in June 2014 but parted ways in October 2021. Tiko subsequently entered into marriage with Bunga on December 2, 2023. Bunga, previously wedded to Malaysian actor Ashraf Sinclair until his demise in 2020, shares a son with him.
