Brunei Darussalam’s wushu star Basma Lachkar secured a silver medal in the women’s optional tajiquan category of the prestigious 4th World Tajiquan Championship in Singapore.
Basma Lachkar recorded 9.680 in her performance, just 0.020 behind first-place winner Zeanne Law of Singapore, who scored 9.700. Third place went to Singapore’s Vera Tan with the score 9.656.
Four national wushu athletes, comprising Basma Lachkar, Lim Yee Sean, Hosea Wong Zheng Yu and Chu Ching Hwa, are representing the Sultanate in the competition. – James Kon
