The Aewon Challenge Cup received a boost with sponsorship in the form of official shirts from Aewon and drinks from You-C1000 yesterday.
Aewon Brunei Managing Director Lau Chai Seng and Aewon-Sherwood Protective Apparel (B) Sdn Bhd General Manager Justin Hong Ping Khiong and Manager of Hui Huang Enterprise Kathrine Hii handed over the sponsorships to Belait District Basketball Association (BDBA) Chairman Koo King Loi.
The tournament, which kicks off on Sunday, is organised by the BDBA in conjunction with the 76th birthday celebration of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Ten teams will vie for top honours comprising T Best Company and Services, Hankook, RYS, Unity, and Café Hopping in Group A; and Indah Damai Restaurant, Wolves Basketball, Hokage Hawks, CBA and NailsXQ in Group B.
Held at the Seria New Village Mutual Aid Association’s Basketball Court, the first game of the tournament will be CBA against Wolves Basketball at 6.30pm.
