Bank holds religious activities, cemetery cleaning

Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) held a recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil ceremony for its officers and staff in conjunction with Ramadhan at the bank’s main office in Bandar Seri Begawan.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SCB Pengiran Aki Ismasufian bin Pengiran Haji Ibrahim attended the event accompanied by 20 staff members.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by recitation of Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil led by the bank’s Treasury Manager Ehwana Yahya.

Pengiran Aki Ismasufian said, “Through hosting religious events annually, we demonstrate the importance of cultural inclusion among our colleagues.

“We ensure our values as an international organisation is mirrored by the communities we operate in.”

In addition to the Tahlil ceremony, a group of 10 staff members from the bank also contributed their efforts to clean the graves and pay respect to those who have passed away at the Rangas Muslim Cemetery in Kianggeh.

The staff volunteers also spent time after the cleaning activity to recite Surah Yaasiin and Tahlil at the cemetery.
