Baiduri Bank celebrated and recognised the achievements of the graduates from its Graduate Apprenticeship Programme (GAP) Cycle 3 with a graduation ceremony at Baiduri Community Space, Baiduri Bank headquarters yesterday.

The ceremony marked the apprentices completion of the six-month programme.

Apprentices received certificates and gave a brief presentation on their journey and growth during the programme, including a recap of the events they were involved in.

Three apprentices were offered permanent employment within Baiduri Bank Group.

Chief Executive Officer of Baiduri Bank Ti Eng Hui commended the apprentices for their achievements and acknowledged their contributions to Baiduri Bank Group.

He highlighted the significant demand for programmes like GAP and their role in facilitating the professional development of local graduates.

He said, “GAP offers recent graduates a unique opportunity to gain valuable work experience and a stronger foothold in the job market.

“Throughout their time here, our apprentices not only went through courses to acquire soft skills such as effective communication, project management, and teamwork but also participated in community initiatives.”

During the apprenticeship, they organised and led five events, including the Baiduri Bank annual blood donation drive, the Employee Wellness Initiative (EWI), beach clean-up, and the recent GAP Cycle 4 Open Day. As part of their experiential learning, apprentices spent five months in various departments, including Risk, Internal Audit, Compliance, Human Resources, Strategic Marketing and Communications, and Information Technology.

The programme’s third intake received over 200 applications earlier this year. After a selection process, 11 apprentices were accepted into the programme in May.
