Brunei’s Bangladeshi community organised an event to mark His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday celebration on Sunday.
Bangladeshi High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Nahida Rahman Shumona said the Sultanate and Bangladesh have strong friendship, mutual trust and cultural similarities.
She also expressed gratitude to His Majesty for the generosity shown to the Bangladeshi community in the community and wished His Majesty and members of the royal family long and healthy lives.
The event also saw a prayer for the monarch and a cake-cutting ceremony. – Lyna Mohamad
