Balai Khazanah Islam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (BKISHHB) organised a Khatam Al-Quran on Saturday.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof as the chairman of BKISHHB Board of Advisors.
It was followed by a mass recitation of Surah Adh-Dhuha until Surah An-Nas.
It continued with Doa Khatam by Mosque Affairs Department’s imam Muhd Arif bin Haji Johari and Selawat Tafrijiyyah. This was followed by the recitation of Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam by the imam.
The event also saw Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi present donations to four orphans. The ceremony concluded with an iftar and Maghrib prayer.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad, Deputy Minister (Civil Service Governance) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Mohd Riza bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yunos and Deputy Minister (Security and Law) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Haji Sufian bin Haji Sabtu were present as members of BKISHHB Board of Advisors. – Rokiah Mahmud
