Back to school

The first school term for the 2024 academic year for all primary, secondary, colleges and sixth form centres under the purview of the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs officially commenced on Tuesday.

Among the many schools was Sultan Abdul Bubin Primary School Sungai Besar in Jalan Kota Batu. Smiles were evident as students and teachers welcomed familiar and new faces at the start of the new academic year.

“We welcome students to school with an assembly to introduce new teachers to the students, as well as lined up a few fun activities for students to make them excited for the new school year,” shared Principal of  Sultan Abdul Bubin Primary School Dayang Nur Aliyah Damia binti Abdullah Lim.

The principal stated that this year the primary school is welcoming a total of 214 students.

“I’m excited to be back and meet my schoolmates,” said Awangku Md Nurrulasheib bin Pengiran Md Nurullazmi of year 6 Orchid.

“In preparation for the start of school, I made sure I had all my books and stationery ready!” he said.

The year 6 student further added that he aims to score A’s in all his subjects this year.

“We’ve cleaned and made sure that all classes are safe and comfortable for students as well as prepared study plans for the students,” said teacher Nursyuhairah.

The highlight of the start of the school year is of course the activities such as fun team building activities and so on to reignite the students to motivate them for the start of the new academic year,” she added. – Adib Noor
