Baby Monster to drop first full-length album on Nov 1

(ANN/KOREA HERALD) – K-pop girl group Baby Monster is set to release their first full-length album, Drip, on November 1, marking a significant milestone just seven months after their April debut, according to YG Entertainment.

The title track, Drip, is expected to be a dance anthem with broad appeal, co-composed by Big Bang’s G-Dragon. The album will feature eight additional tracks, including Clik Clak, described by YG Entertainment’s Chief Executive Producer, Yang Hyun-suk, as a hip-hop track that stands out from anything the company has released before. Other tracks include the acoustic ballad Love, Maybe, the ’90s hip-hop-inspired Really Like You, and Billionaire, which channels the R&B sound of the early 2000s.

Among the highlights of the album are Woke Up In Tokyo (RUKA & ASA), which showcases the hip-hop flair of the group’s Japanese members, and the pre-released track FOREVER. The album also includes a fan-favorite encore remix track titled Batter Up (Remix) – Bonus Track.

In a video posted on YG’s official blog “YG Life,” Yang shared his enthusiasm for the project, calling it a special release. The group’s promotional plan includes the pre-release of two songs weekly, except for the title track. One-minute snippets of these songs will be unveiled to build anticipation. Notably, the title track Drip will be kept under wraps until the official launch, with no teasers planned. Fans can also look forward to at least three music videos, including one for Clik Clak, scheduled for release shortly before the album drops.

Since their debut in April, Baby Monster, composed of members Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita, has achieved remarkable success. Their first EP, Babymons7er, set a record for the highest-selling debut by a K-pop girl group, with over 400,000 copies sold in its first week. The lead track, Sheesh, has garnered over 300 million views on YouTube, while the choreography video has surpassed 150 million views.
