A J Guard Security personnel received a Community Excellence Award from Operation ‘A’ Branch of the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) for his swift action in extinguishing a vehicle fire at Athirah Plaza’s parking lot on January 6 at 7.41pm.
Md Nurfaiq bin Halim doused the fire using a 4.5-kilogramme ABC dry powder extinguisher before it spread to the rest of the car, according to the FRD.
Acting Commanding Officer of Operation ‘A’ Superintendent of FRD Haji Mustapa bin Haji Mohamad handed over the certificate during a ceremony at Beribi Fire Station.
