The Royal Customs and Excise Department’s (RCED) law enforcement division detained a 40-year-old local man during an operation in Kampong Kiulap on Tuesday for allegedly possessing 1,778 units of vape, a vape device, eight bottles of vape juice, 11 vape refills and 21 packs of cigarettes.
BND15,605.50 and foreign currency estimated at BND6,067, believed to be proceeds from the sales of customs offence goods, were also seized. The suspect and the seized items were brought to the enforcement office for further investigation.
The RCED reminded the public to comply with the country’s law and avoid smuggling activities. The possession of contraband is an offence under Section 140 or Section 146 of the Excise Order, 2006. – James Kon
