Authenticating reference source vital

Along with the transition of time, learning Al-Quran using the latest methods will make it easier to access its knowledge.

However, “we need to be careful on reference source obtained as it needs to be filtered for its authenticity. Therefore, it is indeed for the Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI) through the

Censorship and Exhibition Division organised the workshop as part of the effort to expand knowledge on Rasm Uthmani writings and improve skills for PDI officers”.

This was said by PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh during the closing ceremony of a workshop, ‘Bengkel Pendedahan Kaedah Rasm Uthmani dan Pengadaptasiannya di dalam Pentashihan/Penapisan Al-Quran dan Seumpamanya’, at Ta’lim Hall of the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan.

The director also noted that the workshop served as medium to make the secretariat ‘Lajnah Pentashihan Al-Quran’ of PDI as platform for ‘tashih’ and reference that being recognised especially in the aspect of controlling and ‘tashih’ of Al-Quran in the Sultanate.

Forty-three participants completed the workshop, comprising officers from the Censorship and Exhibition Division as well as officers from the PDI.

The ceremony began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar and Surah Al-Fatihah, led by Religious Development Officer (i-Ready) Abdul Hazim @ Abdul Azeem bin Haji Abdul Halim.

The workshop was organised by the PDI through Censorship and Exhibition Division (Publications/Control Post) and Secretariat for the Publication of Tafsir Mushaf of Brunei Darussalam.

The workshop aimed at enhancing PDI officers’ skills while constructing censorship guidelines that are quality and accredited.
