The Belait District Basketball Association (BDBA) sent five members for a statistician course hosted by the Malaysian Basketball Association (MABA) in Miri recently.
Some topics and techniques discussed included the collection of basketball data statistics such as assists, points and blocks.
BDBA President Koo Kong Loi noted that the course and the collection of data over the course of the games and tournaments represent an indispensable and important element in the sport.
“Team coaches and competitors can use these data to make tactical deployments, and players can also strengthen their training based on the data after the game,” he added.
He also noted that the association will continue to encourage more of its members to partake in other courses to improve the quality and skill of the committee members and basketball games.
