The Indian Association of Belait (IAB) organised a gathering for community members to commemorate India’s 78th Independence Day on August 15.
Indian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Alok Amitabh Dimri, the guest of honour, acknowledged the association for its social and cultural activities to celebrate the diamond jubilee this November.
He urged community members to participate in events organised by IAB.
Meanwhile, IAB President Salimo called on members to renew their membership. The event, attended by 150 people, saw the presentation of a video message by the president of India.
The association also held a poster making and quiz competitions for children.
