The public is allowed to visit cemeteries to pay respect to the departed during the month of Ramadhan, said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar yesterday.
“Cemeteries are open air, so it is a safe environment. But it is still important to follow the standard operating procedures by wearing face masks and social distancing,” said the minister at the daily press conference.
The minister said since most visitors to the cemeteries comprise family members from different households, it is highly recommended to screen for COVID-19 using an antigen rapid test (ART) prior to the visit.
