Local artist Dato Paduka Haji Haini bin Haji Hashim’s painting exhibition at the Brunei Energy Hub Dermaga Diraja in the capital has been popular with local art enthusiasts and tourists.

The A Life in Art exhibition launched on January 9 will run until the end of this month.

The exhibition also featured activities including a painting workshop last week.

The exhibition, divided into three categories of impressionism, realism and abstract, features over 150 artworks at Gallery 4.

Dato Paduka Haji Haini noted that he is glad that visitors, particularly the youth and students, are not shy to ask questions about the paintings and related subjects.

The exhibition is organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports through the Museums Department.

Dato Paduka Haji Haini is a former ambassador of Brunei Darussalam to Russia and has used his artwork as a diplomatic tool to strengthen relations between both nations.

Some of his paintings were presented as gifts to state dignitaries and the artist was also inducted by the Russian Academy of Arts as an honorary member in April 2017. – Lyna Mohamad
