Twenty-one retired veterans and one serving personnel of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) received medical supplies and equipment during a special community service event organised in conjunction with the RBAF’s Diamond Jubilee yesterday.
RBAF Commander Major General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sahat, service commanders and senior military officers from the RBAF visited 18 recipients’ homes concurrently across the country to present the donations.
The Waqaf contribution is obtained from the RBAF Trust Fund and charity funds from the British Loan Service Community Shop.
A total of 31 medical supplies and equipment were contributed including electric medical beds, electric and regular wheel chairs, commodes, air mattresses, walking frames, and medical suction pumps.
Also present at the event were veteran members from the Veterans’ Affairs Division (BHEPT) and RBAF Veterans (PERWIRA) Association.
The recipients were identified by BHEPT and the project’s committee based on their needs, with the aim of improving their quality of life.
