APT. hits No 3 on Billboard Hot 100

ANN/THE KOREA HERALD – Rosé of BLACKPINK has achieved a historic milestone, soaring to No. 3 on the latest Billboard Hot 100 with her hit single APT., making her the highest-charting K-pop female artist in the history of the weekly chart.

The track, a collaboration with American pop sensation Bruno Mars, climbed two places to secure its highest position yet, according to Billboard’s announcement on Monday (US time).

Initially released in October, APT. debuted at No 8 before skyrocketing 29 spots to reach No 5 on the 7th January chart. Despite fluctuations over the weeks, the song has steadily regained traction in 2025, largely due to the waning popularity of holiday-themed tracks that dominated the charts during the festive season.

The Hot 100 rankings are determined by a combination of streaming figures, radio airplay, and sales data across all genres, showcasing the song’s wide appeal.

APT. serves as the lead single for rosie, Rosé’s debut full-length solo album, released on 6th December. Drawing inspiration from a popular Korean drinking game often referred to as the “apartment game,” the track has captured international attention with its playful and addictive chorus, featuring the Korean abbreviation “apateu” (apartment).

In addition to its Hot 100 success, Billboard confirmed that APT. reached No 1 on the Pop Airplay chart. This marks the first time a K-pop artist has achieved the top spot on this prestigious ranking, further cementing Rosé’s global influence.

Fans can expect the updated Billboard charts to be officially released on Tuesday (US time), where APT. will continue its reign as a symbol of K-pop’s growing impact on the global music industry.
