Twenty-five members of the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BRC) were officially appointed and presented with appointment certificates and rank medals during a ceremony at the Goldstone Ballroom of The Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong on Friday.
BRC President Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yussof bin Pengiran Haji Bahar presented the medals.
The ceremony began with the singing of the national anthem and the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Peliharakan Sultan dan Negara Brunei Darussalam, followed by the announcement of national executive board by the secretary general.
Datin Hajah Hasnah binti Haji Ibrahim was appointed as honorary member while Lailatul Zubaidah binti Haji Mohd Hussain as legal advisor and Dayangku Rodzi binti Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman as deputy secretary general II.
Nine national executive board members, nine for the office of the vice president and 11 of the district units also received their certificates.
The ceremony also saw the presentation of medals of honour to main sponsors for the COVID-19 operations and appointment letters to the fundraising committee and special project members.
BRC honorary member Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah presented the medals to Malcolm Lim of Kingston Beverage and Creamery Sdn Bhd, Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Metassim of Syarikat Malar Setia, Lee Chait Kiant of SKH Sdn Bhd, Ngu Goh Hui of Master Solution Sdn Bhd, Ting Kah Ong of Sagaria Sdn Bhd and Hitesh Bhawani of YMRM Group of Companies.
He also handed appointment letters to the fundraising committee and special project members to Eugene Loh, Soon Sunthorn, Ngu Goh Hui, Khoo Hok Kim and Ngui Pohh Fook @ William.
