Application for BIMP-EAGA business awards opens

Brunei Darussalam BIMP-EAGA Business Council (BD-BEBC) will launch the first BIMP-EAGA Business Awards 2023 (BEBA) to recognise and award organisations and individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the BIMP-EAGA region.

The award application’s closing date is April 7 at 5pm GMT.

The award is held in conjunction with the Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA) Business-to-Business (B2B) Expo that will be held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas from April 28 to May 2.

Sixteen award categories have been introduced and open to companies and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) under BIMP countries, which include Eight Vision 2025 Sector Development Awards comprising Transport, Trade and Investments Facilitation, Power and Energy Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Agribusiness, Tourism, Environment Socio-Cultural and Education. While in the Special Category Awards, it comprises eight awards: Lifetime Achievement Award, SME Excellence Award, Women Entrepreneur Award, Young Entrepreneur Award, Inclusive Business Award, Rising Star Award and Brunei Special Award – Social Enterprise and Student Entrepreneur Award.

The five-day expo will feature 300 booths, comprising businesses and entrepreneurs from the BIMP-EAGA countries and its developing partners, including Australia, Bangladesh, China, India, Iran, Japan, Korea and Timor-Leste.

Activities include a conference, forums and a business-matching session.
