Jerudong International School (JIS) hosted its annual Netball Funday last Sunday. Over 400 players from over 40 teams across Brunei gathered on the JIS campus, representing their schools or clubs across different age categories, from U8 all the way up to U19.
Alongside a number of teams from JIS, players came from other schools across Brunei, such as Hornbill School, International School Brunei (ISB) and Miftah An-Nur Islamic International School. Some teams were also made up of players from a mix of different schools.
Head of PE and Sport at JIS Mr Hasim Khan, commented: “Netball Funday is a fantastic opportunity for players of all ages to come together, showcase their skills, and build connections within the Brunei netball community. It’s truly inspiring to see such dedication and sportsmanship on display, and we’re proud to be part of this celebration of netball.”
To complete the day, the event featured 24 vendors selling exclusive products such as handcrafted accessories, home decorations, artwork and more. Food vendors were present to cater to all attendees, offering a variety of options including tacos, pasta, kebabs, matcha, coffee, desserts and more. Several stalls were also operated by members of the JIS community to raise funds for official school initiatives.
Mr Nicholas Sheehan, Executive Principal of JIS, commented: “Netball Funday celebrates community and the spirit of participation..”
