A dikir troupe comprising the alumni of Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam (SMJA) English Secondary School’s 1975-1978 intake joined congregants of Jubli Perak Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Jangsak for a Dikir Maulud ceremony for the fourth consecutive year recently.
The ceremony began with mass Maghrib prayer, followed by Dikir Syarafil Anam, Dikir Khairuman, Dikir Alhamdulillah, Isya’ prayer, Dikir Syarafil Anam Bishahrin, Dikir Badat (Kopi) and Dikir Marhaban.
The objective was to receive blessings from Allah the Almighty and to praise Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) with the hope of gaining assistance in the hereafter.
Dikir Maulud reinvigorates for 12 nights, starting on 1st of Rabiulawal until 12th of Rabiulawal of the Islamic calendar at mosques, suraus and religious halls in the Sultanate. – Azlan Othman
