Almerez FA underlined their superiority and quality after recording a thumping 17-0 victory over Silveredz FT in Group ‘C’ of the Brunei Futsal Cup 2022 at the Ministry of Defence yesterday.
With star player Mohd Radhi bin Raduan at their disposal, the team looked to be a force with their opponents unable to match them throughout the match.
The Group ‘C’ pace-setters became the third team in the competition thus far to post double digits, emulating the exploits of MS ABDB and Kasuka & Ar Rawda.
Mohd Radhi, who became the first local futsal player to represent an overseas club when he joined Sarawak United before the COVID-19 pandemic, contributed with five goals while Md Izzan Syahiran scored a hat-trick.
In a more competitive affair, Kota Ranger beat PES 7-4 to keep pace with league leaders Almerez following the completion of the first round of matches.
Following MS ABDB’s 13-1 win during the opening night, goal galore continued as Kasuka & Ar Rawda hammered RS FT 16-1 in an earlier match in Group ‘B’.
The trio of Mohd Yusran bin Mazlan, Abdul Azim bin Bolhassan and Muhamad Nur Bazli bin Awang Basar led the scoring with a hat-trick each.
BIBD SRC look on course to join Kasuka & Ar Rawda in qualifying from the group after they edged DD FT 2-1.
The competition continues tonight with Group ‘A’ matches as MS ABDB and Shah United look to make back-to-back wins against GG FT and Creativol.
