The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) through the Syariah Affairs Department confirmed that Digloss Kamitore Brush of Soft 99 type is a non-halal product made with boar bristles.
It is sold openly at a business premise in the Sultanate.
The discovery was confirmed through Soft 99 Corporation in Japan website.
In safeguarding the Muslim community’s well-being, the Syariah Affairs Department ordered the premise owner to immediately isolate the brushes away from the public.
Other business premises are ordered to segregate the product if it is sold in their premise.
The MoRA reminded business owners, managers, retailers, suppliers and importers of products into Brunei to be alert and aware of products sold to the public by ensuring the products are halal and not placed together with non-halal products to protect the Muslim community.
The ministry thanked the public for the tip off and information.
