Alcohol, dubious meat seized in Temburong

A massive contraband haul comprising 312 bottles and 940 cans of alcohol, as well as 20 kilogrammes of meat were found inside a vehicle stopped by the police in the commercial premise of Kampong Puni, Temburong District early yesterday.

According to the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), the vehicle was stopped by enforcement and patrol officers from Bangar Police Station.

Thirty-two packages in black plastic bags suspected to be contraband were found in the rear passenger seat. The vehicle and the driver were brought to the Bangar Police Station for questioning.

The suspect – a 39-year-old local – with the seized contraband were handed over to the religious enforcement of Temburong District for further investigation.

The suspect’s vehicle was also not insured and had an expired road tax.
