Male and female students from Institut Tahfiz Al-Quran Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah won first and third places in the finals of Al-Quran Reading (Tarannum) Competition for Secondary Schools and Colleges Nationwide 2024 at the Information Department.
Hassanal Bolkiah Boys Arabic Secondary School emerged as the first runner-up.
Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Religious) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr Haji Hardifadhillah bin Haji Mohd Salleh, the guest of honour, presented prizes to the winners.
Nine groups participated in the competition and six advanced to the finals.
The competition aimed to improve the quality of Al-Quran recitation among students while encouraging more students to excel in the art of tarannum Al-Quran.
The competition was organised by the Spiritual Activities Division, Department of Co Curriculum Education at the Ministry of Education. – Azlan Othman
