The National Al-Quran memorisation and its Understanding Competition Finals for 1446 Hijrah is set to take place today and tomorrow at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.
Some 25 participants have qualified for the finals, comprising nine male and 16 female contestants across five categories.
Categories ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, and ‘D’ will compete today starting at 8.30am.
Category ‘E’ will take place tomorrow beginning at 8.30am.
The annual event is organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs through the MABIMS Centre for Al-Quran Studies and Dissemination.
The competition progresses through several stages, beginning with preliminary rounds, followed by the semi-finals, and culminating in the national finals.
Participants are required to arrive ahead of their scheduled competition times. – Fadley Faisal
