Brunei LNG’s Managing Director and CEO Hajah Farida binti Dato Seri Paduka Haji Talib attended the ceremony at the Liang Lumut Recreation Club yesterday.
Legislative Council member and Penghulu of Mukim Liang Yang Berhormat Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin; Brunei LNG Finance Manager Pengiran Mas Norhazilinah binti Pengiran Momin; Human Resources, Real Estate and Facilities Manager Mizan Adiliah bin Haji Mohamad Deli; Brunei LNG staff members, and representatives from the Mukim Lumut Liang community and NGOs were also present.
Hajah Farida lauded the government’s efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
“Alhamdulillah, with everyone’s cooperation in adhering to health measures set by the Ministry of Health, in December last year it was announced that the Sultanate is now in the Early Endemic Phase,” she said. “Brunei LNG is honoured to have the opportunity to aid the efforts of moving towards the Early Endemic Phase.
She added, “The donations is part of Brunei LNG’s social investment strategy ‘Save Futures’ that focusses on helping our community. With the world and Brunei slowly opening up and entering the endemic phase, there are new safety measures that need to be normalised, including ensuring excellent personal hygiene, wearing face masks, and the availability of equipment such as fogging machines, temperature scanners as well as screening tools such as antigen rapid testing (ART) kits.”
Brunei LNG distributed fogging machines, thermal scanners, sanitising and personal hygiene products to Zainab Mosque, Sungai Liang Mosque, Pengiran Anak Puteri Hajah Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Secondary School and Politeknik Brunei, School of Science and Engineering.
Meanwhile, Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam, Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, Down Syndrom Association (ABLE), Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA) and An-Nur Harapan received a three-month supply of ART kits.
“We hope that the donation will help to ease the transition into the endemic phase and that we can do our part to keep everyone safe, especially our beloved community. Together we can all increase our efforts to continue to flatten the curve for our country,” Hajah Farida added.
