On the penultimate day of the Baiduri Masters, Ahmad Yani secured a finals berth in the golf charity tournament and topped the standings with the tournament best score of 68.
Joining him on the provisional podium were Asmawi bin Haji Ismail (3-under) and Bryan Chiew Chun Hao (3-under). Completing the top six comprised the trio of Md Irwan Hamid (3 under), Suhaimi bin Haji Ibrahim (3-under) and Awangku Syakir bin Pengiran Haji Alli (2-under).
Rounding off the top 12 were multiple former champion Seruji bin Haji Setia (1-under), Lai Suan Loong (par), Muhd Qawi Fakhri (par), 2018 champion Johari bin Haji Ahmad (1-over), Moksin Junaidi (1-over) and Haji Shahminan bin Haji Damit (1-over).
The top 12 will go head-to-head in the title-deciding round in a battle for the new Challenge Trophy and to become the latest player to don the coveted Green Jacket.
Almas Syazwani Kamis remains top of the Ladies category with her score of 7-over and looks set to become the first woman to sport the Green Jacket.
To date, the Baiduri Masters 2023 has yet to see a golfer ace any of the Par 3 holes at Pantai Mentiri Golf Club and walk away with the hole-in-one prizes. They include a BMW iX3 on hole 16, Mini Cooper 3 Door Brick Lane Edition on hole 9 or BND20,000 on holes 7 and 13.
The Baiduri Masters 2023 prize presentation event will be held at Mulia Hotel. All registered golfers are invited and will stand a chance to win lucky draw prizes.
Tournament proceeds will go to four charitable organisations: Society for the Management of Autism Related issues in Training, Education and Resources (SMARTER) Brunei, Learning Ladders Society, Children’s Cancer Foundation and Community Development Department.
