In conjunction with Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) 13th Hafl Al-Takharruj (Convocation Ceremony), the university is expanding its network of collaboration through the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and memoranda of agreement (MoAs) with foreign academic institutions. The signings were held at the Gallery Room, Tarindak D’Seni, Bandar Seri Begawan yesterday.

Signing on behalf of UNISSA was its Rector Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, along with representatives from Chittagong University, Bangladesh; Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA), Indonesia; Al-Madinah International University (MEDIU), Malaysia; and Almuslim Aceh Islamic Institute, as well as the Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim of Malang, Indonesia.

The MoA signing also took place between the Faculty of Arabic Language, UNISSA, represented by Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language at UNISSA Dr Hajah Rafidah binti Haji Abdullah, and the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training Institutions, represented by Professor Dr H Nur Ali, on behalf of Universitas Islam Negeri Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang, Indonesia.

UNISSA continues its efforts to establish collaborations in the areas of academic staff exchange, student exchange, research, publications, and community service.

The signing of the agreements with foreign higher education institutions serves as a platform for future collaborative initiatives, aimed at mutual benefit and, in particular, strengthening UNISSA’s position as a global centre for Islamic higher education. – Adib Noor
