Members of the Belait District Senior Citizens Association (PWEDB) delivered performances in conjunction with of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday celebration recently.
The performances include Selawat and Tausyeh performances as well as a demonstrative act showcasing the importance and proper recitation of Dikir Syarafil Anam and Marhaban during a Sunnat ceremony.
Speaking to the Bulletin, PWEDB President Haji Abdul Hamid bin Haji Mumin said the association wanted to take the opportunity of the nightly stage performance to deliver a memorable act.
“One of the highlights of our performance was Dikir Syarafil Anam and Marhaban, to showcase how it is performed at home for those who have come of age. It was in line with the national mission philosophy of Malay Islamic Monarchy for the younger generation of the nation.” – Daniel Lim
