Addressing safety issues, concerns with scheduled maintenance works

“In presenting information and our expectations of the upcoming Scheduled Turnaround (STA) maintenance activities in April, we want to address any issues and concerns from the community as our priority at Brunei Methanol Company Sdn Bhd (BMC) is the safety of the employees, contractors and the communities.”

These were said by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BMC Jesus Enrique Mora Marin in his opening remarks during the Stakeholder Engagement Dialogue Session held at the Sungai Liang Industrial Park (SPARK) Mini Theatre yesterday.

The session was held to disseminate information on the scheduled STA maintenance works that is slated over the course of a few months.

Present during the session were representatives from various stakeholders, government and private agencies. Also present was Commanding Officer of the Third Battalion Royal Brunei Land Force Major Erawan bin Haji Abu Bakar, and Commanding Officer of Belait Police District Senior Superintendent Handrie bin Haji Amin.

Several briefings were also delivered by officers and staff members on the work that will be conducted as part of the STA maintenance. They also highlighted some of the potential disruptions that may occur.

The session also focusses on updating the attendees on the schedule, the type of activities and the safety aspects of the works that will be carried out during the STA.

The STA is expected to begin on April 21 until early June of this year.
