PETALING JAYA (ANN/THE STAR) – Kuala Lumpur boasts an iconic skyline dominated by landmarks like the Warisan Merdeka Tower, the Exchange 106@TRX, and the Petronas Twin Towers, which have become familiar symbols to many.

This skyline recently caught the eye of Architectural Digest (AD), a prominent architecture and design magazine, which ranked Kuala Lumpur among the top 17 city skylines worldwide.

“More than mere collections of buildings, the world’s most beautiful skylines represent the essence of cities,” AD noted in its list introduction.

Manhattan clinched the top spot, while Kuala Lumpur secured the 13th position. Other Southeast Asian cities on the list include Singapore (9th) and Bangkok (10th).

AD highlighted the Petronas Twin Towers, designed by Cesar Pelli, as pivotal to Kuala Lumpur’s skyline. The city is noted for its impressive tally of 241 skyscrapers, underscoring its architectural prowess on the global stage.
