Occasional heavy and thundery showers are expected with wind gust that may reach up to 45 kilometres per hour during or near heavy showers, the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) said yesterday.

The department said there is a risk of flash floods, especially at low-lying and flood prone  areas as well as near river banks during continuous heavy rain and high tide.

The risk of landslides and fallen trees are also possible during heavy showers and gusty condition.

The department advised the public, including road users and mariners, to take precautions to ensure safety during active weather.

The BDMD said Brunei is currently in the Southwest Monsoon period, where southwesterly wind is still dominant with stable atmospheric conditions.
