Brunei Darussalam is expected to endure active weather condition starting today until tomorrow, due to active development of rain clouds.
With the Sultanate still in the Northeast Monsoon season, occasional showers and thundershowers are expected, with wind gust up to 40 kilometres per hour during or near heavy showers or thundershowers, the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD) said in a statement yesterday.
Over Brunei waters, sea state is generally slight and may reach moderate state up to 1.4 metres.
The public is advised to take precautionary actions with respect to the forecasted active weather condition. There are risks of flash floods especially at low-lying, flood prone areas and near the river banks during continuous heavy rain that last over one hour and during high tide.
Risk of landslides and falling trees are also possible during heavy showers and gusty condition.
Road users and fishermen are advised to always stay up-to-date with the latest weather forecast, advisory and warning issued by BDMD.
