In an effort to continuously encourage the active participation of the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA) children in its programmes and activities, as well as the involvement and support of parents, the association organised the KACA Programme/Activity Closing Ceremony for 2024 at its centre in Kampong Kiulap yesterday.
KACA President Dato Paduka Haji Zainal bin Haji Momin, the guest of honour, officiated the prize presentation and appreciation awards to the honourees.
KACA Centre Managing Director Haji Awang Abdul Alim bin Haji Awang Othman hoped that KACA children and their parents will continue to participate in and support the centre’s programmes and activities.
He highlighted that programmes planned for 2025 include the 14th KACA Savings Project, a storytelling competition for children at the four KACA Centres in the Sultanate, a fun sports day, a colouring competition for children and a Thanksgiving Ceremony in conjunction with KACA’s 39th anniversary.
The event proceeded with the presentation of awards to five KACA children who actively participated in KACA programmes and activities, as well as five parents who were directly involved throughout 2024 by Dato Paduka Haji Zainal.
The event aimed to encourage KACA children to participate in year-round programmes and activities, including visits, sports, walkathons, and other events, while recognising parents for their cooperation and active assistance through participation.
The association hopes for the continued collaboration of all parties in the programmes and activities planned for 2025, contributing to the educational and developmental growth of children. – Fadley Faisal
