Active COVID-19 cases drop below 1,000

Brunei Darussalam’s active COVID-19 cases have dropped below 1,000 for the first time since the start of the third COVID-19 wave.

This was shared by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during the daily press conference yesterday.

He added that there are currently 26 cases receiving treatment at hospitals, and 973 undergoing home self-isolation.

The Sultanate detected 150 new cases – 126 from antigen rapid test (ART) and 24 from 438 RT-PCR laboratory tests performed in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 141,269, said the minister.

He also said no COVID-19 fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours.

“There are two Category 5 patients receiving treatment at the intensive care unit,” the minister said, adding 170 cases have recovered, bringing the number of recoveries to 140,052.

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin was in attendance.
